EASY SLOW COOKER TURKEY BREAST WITH GROUND SAGE, OREGANO AND BASIL

Cooking turkey in a slow cooker is a first for me, but it was especially easy and turned out tasty and tender.

I didn’t have a lot of time to spend working on our family turkey dinner and found the slow cooker idea worked beautifully. Just put the turkey pieces in the cooker and forget about them!

First, purchase two of the best quality turkey breasts you can get. Fresh, free-range, organic, pasture-raised, frozen, bone-in, boneless, skin-on, skinless, or whatever your pleasure happens to be.

Then, spray the bottom of the slow cooker dish with an oil spray and lay down six celery stalks to keep the turkey from resting on the bottom of the cooker. Next, arrange the turkey breasts on top of the celery.

Last, sprinkle the turkey with a generous amount of salt and ground sage, and a light sprinkle of dried oregano and basil.

Place the cover on the cooker and set the temperature to low. Cook for 6 to 8 hours until the internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees when checked with a food thermometer. Slice and serve with your favorite side dishes.
